Glendale Out of Playoff Race

It has been a woeful season for the Glendale Bruisers and now they have been officially eliminated from playoff contention.
"You always need some things to break your way to get into the playoffs," said manager . "And nothing broke our way this year."
Glendale last appeared in the postseason in 2070. This is their 8th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 83 times in their 89-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Bruisers have only made the playoffs once. Glendale last won the League Championship in 2070.

Aguascalientes Skunked by Vazquez, 7-0
Wednesday, July 20th , 2078
Shreveport Blackbirds pitcher Edwin Vazquez did his job to perfection, blanking the Aguascalientes Abejas at Ballpark of Shreveport. He scattered 2 hits while striking out 6 in the 7-0 shutout.
"All I did was not allow any runs," he joked after the game. "I mean, technically, that's what they pay me to do, right?"
For the season, Vazquez has compiled a 5-7 record with a 4.08 ERA.

Evans Hurls Victoria to Shutout Victory
Tuesday, July 19th , 2078
Neil Evans came out firing strikes and, when the game ended, the Victoria Seals hurler had struck out 9, leading Victoria past the Fairbanks Goldpanners, 4-0. Evans allowed just 3 hits in the ballgame.
"I'm glad that one is in the rearview mirror," said Fairbanks manager .
To date this year, Evans has won 5 and lost 0 with a 0.90 ERA, no saves and 82 strikeouts in 20 relief appearances.
