It's been a year of triumph for veteran Joe Echols of the Calgary Cannons as he hit his way to the 2080 Beta Conference Outstanding Hitter Award.

The 32-year-old veteran compiled a .264 average and .414 on-base percentage by putting together 99 hits, 19 doubles, no triples, 32 home runs and 94 walks. He also scored 83 times and drove in 78 runs.

He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 30. John Binder of the San Antonio Texicans finished second in voting with 15 first place votes, while Jon Harris of the Garland Pigeons finished third with 1 first place vote.

The future looks extremely bright for Venceslau Pontes. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in RSL Triple A.

Pontes has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Alpha Conference Outstanding Hitter Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .321 this year, that's for sure," the center fielder said.

The Riverside Spinners star also put up a .369 on-base percentage this year, with 159 hits, 27 doubles, 4 triples, 18 home runs, 58 RBIs and 95 runs scored.

He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 30. Huang Ru of the Wichita Riversharks finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Juan Arroya of the Riverside Spinners finished third with 1 first place vote.
