RSL A Headline News: Playoffs begin

The RSL Single A playoffs start today! Only a handful of teams remain in the running for the ultimate prize -- the League Championship championship. It's playoff time -- a time of glory and victory awaits one of the teams. The team that rises to each eventful occasion -- the team that makes all the right plays at the right time. Today is the start of the League Championship and here are the opening games:

RSL A News Flash: Regular Season ends

For the lucky few going to the playoffs, the season is just beginning. For most, the postseason is a just a distant pipe dream -- a season that could have been. Their season is over except for the bashing, rehashing and revamping that takes place in the hot stove league. It's now time for the dominant teams to do battle for the 2084 RSL Single A championship. It will be decided in the League Championship. Only the best will be left standing.

Costigan Fires Shutout in Hillsboro Victory

Pat Costigan subdued the Geneva Greens, 6-0, pitching a 2-hit gem for the Hillsboro Ensigns at Royals Ballpark.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Hillsboro skipper said.
Costigan registered 6 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Geneva manager after the defeat.
This season, Costigan has compiled a 3-6 record with a 3.69 ERA in 19 starts.
