Vargas 5-for-5 Against Ghouls Thursday, August 16th , 2085 5 times is the charm -- at least for Maikel Vargas. The Hicksville Sumos first baseman tore up the Chula Vista Ghouls to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Field of the Ghouls. The offensive onslaught from Vargas powered the 15-1 Sumos win. "Vargas was a tough out," Chula Vista manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Maikel Vargas singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Tirado in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Abdul-Qadir bin Sajid in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
