San Antonio Silences Santa Ana, 7-0

Seiho Yoshioka kept the Santa Ana Broncs hitters from doing much damage at Chuckers Park.
Santa Ana could only muster 6 hits and draw 2 walks against the left-handed Yoshioka, who controlled them throughout the game. San Antonio won the contest, 7-0. Yoshioka added 6 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Yoshioka told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."

Santa Ana Halts Davidson's Hitting Steak

The Calgary Cannons lost to the Santa Ana Broncs, 5-1, at Broncs Ballpark, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Mike Davidson's 23-game hitting streak. The first baseman went 0-for-4 on the day.
"We felt if we could slow down Davidson, we would win the game," Broncs manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."
Currently Davidson is hitting .348 and has collected 2 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 21 times, while playing in 36 games.
