Rowland Goes Long 3 Times Tuesday, June 28th , 2078 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Honolulu Axemen. Scottsdale center fielder Chris Rowland tripled up on the home runs to propel the Crawdads to a win, 6-5, at Crawdads Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Honolulu manager said. "Rowland hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Rowland collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Chris Rowland flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Xiong Loh in the 4th, struck out in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Vince Jones in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Edward Estenza in the 11th. For the year, Rowland is batting .279 with 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored. |
