Pak 5-for-5 for Birds
Friday, April 15th , 2078
It was a downpour of hits for Sang-hwa Pak at Ballpark of Newport News.
The Cincinnati Birds second baseman tore into Newport News for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the Birds to a rain-delayed 6-2 victory. Newport News manager bemoaned his pitching, speculating his club got flustered by Pak's big day.
"He was beating us and we stopped locating well," he said. "That makes you get behind in the count and you can't do that when a guy is hot like Pak was today. Not to take anything away from him, but bad location was the story of the ballgame."
Sang-hwa Pak singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jesus Servellon in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 8 games this season, Pak is batting .229 with 8 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 3 runs and driven in 6.
