Herman Swats 3 Homers Monday, June 12th , 2079 Anchorage Glacier Pilots left fielder Alexander Herman sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Scottsdale Crawdads, Herman told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Herman pushed the Glacier Pilots past the Crawdads, 10-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Herman told reporters after the game. Alexander Herman hit a solo-shot off Myung-bak Hyong in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Luis Martinez in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Hugo Duarte in the 8th. Herman is hitting .257 this year with 21 home runs and 35 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .357, 28 walks and scored 35 times. |
