Ponce Shuts Out Vancouver, 14-0

In a remarkable performance, San Francisco Friars starter Cruz Ponce beat the Vancouver Wolves, 14-0, in an impressive 2-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Friars hurler finished with 6 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Vancouver manager Matt Libid said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
This year, Ponce has recorded a 17-3 mark. In 32 starts he has fanned 192 batters in 195.2 innings with a 2.90 ERA.
