Tabata Torches Titans for 5 Hits
Monday, August 31st , 2076
The Baltimore Kings stopped the New York Titans by a score of 8-6 at Polo Grounds II today, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Koufuu Tabata. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Tabata said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Tabata did just that in his 8 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Titans.
"Not much that I can say," offered New York manager Nate Beckman. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Koufuu Tabata doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Pavel Orta in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th, flied out in the 15th and hit a two-run home run off Miguel Soto in the 17th.
Tabata is currently hitting at a .276 pace with 5 home runs and 25 RBIs.
