Kansas City's Morita Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Tuesday, September 3rd , 2080 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-7 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Hisatoshi Morita, it came around today. The 24-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Ballpark of Missouri to pace the 10-9 Kansas City Athletics victory over the Minneapolis Vikings. Minneapolis skipper Ace Cooan told reporters in the press room that "Morita deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Morita hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Hisatoshi Morita singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, walked in the 7th, flied out in the 10th, singled in the 12th and tripled in the 14th.
