5-Hit Game for Esaki
Monday, September 4th , 2079
Senators right fielder Takeshi Esaki had his way with Cincinnati pitching at Cincinnati Grounds and mauled them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Twins ruined his great day by toppling the Senators, 3-2.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Cincinnati credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Esaki did today," Twins skipper Ryan Stoops said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Takeshi Esaki singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, walked in the 12th and grounded out in the 14th.
During the current season Esaki is batting at a .321 clip with 1 home run and 15 RBIs. He has played in 109 games and scored 31 times.
