Czerw Slugs Titans to 8-6 Win
With designated hitter Steve Czerw leading the charge, the New York Titans defeated the Baltimore Kings, 8-6, at Polo Grounds II. Czerw, who is tied for 4th in the EC in bases on balls with 84, belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Ray Menk earned his 31st save in 33 chances. New York improves to 89-51 with the win. They lead their division by 6½ games.

Czerw had a key at-bat for New York early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and gave New York an early 3-0 lead.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Czerw told the New York Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
