Lovelace Beguiles Minneapolis

In a remarkable performance, San Francisco Friars starter Doug Lovelace beat the Minneapolis Vikings, 9-0, in an impressive 4-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Friars hurler finished with 9 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
This season to date, Lovelace has a record of 8 wins and 4 losses with a 4.50 ERA, has appeared in 19 games and struck out 105 in 102 innings.
