Eighmy Delivers Walk-Off Win for Glaciers
|
The Denver Glaciers picked up a win at Mountain Dew Park, knocking off the Kansas City Athletics, 4-3, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Shane Shackelford played a key role in the triumph. Pavel Orta, now 5-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for Denver.
Denver got a knockout punch from Chris Eighmy. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Eighmy.
