Pedroza 5-for-5 Against Portland Monday, June 24th , 2080 5 times is the charm -- at least for Jose Pedroza. The San Diego Destroyers designated hitter tore up the Portland Dragons to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Seaward Stadium. The offensive onslaught from Pedroza powered the 10-1 Destroyers win. "Pedroza was a tough out," Portland manager Greg Carpenter said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Jose Pedroza hit a two-run home run off Bobby Edwards in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Bertrand Ivory in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
