Rangers Deal Lobster 7-2 Defeat
|
The Buffalo Rangers got a strong performance from pitcher Mike Trice, who stymied the Portland (E) offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Ballpark of Portland. Trice went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-4. The Rangers, at 36-18, have now won 5 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for Buffalo, had it not been for Willy Amavizca, the two-time Gold Glove Award winner . Amavizca contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Buffalo up, 2-1.
