Fans watched the Philadelphia Spectres and the Havana Metropolitanos fight to the finish.

Philadelphia pitcher Felix Talamantez had a large part in his team subduing the Havana Metropolitanos, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Fidel Flores, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 13th save.

Robin Pomphrey had a big solo home run for the Spectres in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Nate McFry and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Spectres on top, 3-1.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Havana manager Mark Sands.

At 29-24, the Spectres find themselves in third place in the Eastern Conference Bill Oates Division.
