Browns Lose, 6-3, to Portland
|
Brown Town was the site of the home opener for the Brooklyn Browns. The contest featured a prime matchup between Wil Campos of the visiting Portland Dragons and Slider Brooks of the Browns. The final score was 6-3, the Dragons getting the win. Slider Brooks turned in the best performance. Portland pitcher Tsunesaburo Kai earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Max Badaloni suffered the loss.
Portland needed the clutch hitting of Alex Guilzar to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dragons on top, 6-3. For the game, Guilzar had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Guilzar told the Portland Observer.
