Harfangs Get Clutch 2-1 Win
|
In a tension-filled contest between the Montreal Harfangs and the Philadelphia Spectres, pitcher Stuart Stephenson was superb. The Montreal right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the EC in quality starts with 7, spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. The win went to Victor Pargas in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rodolfo Ruiz took the loss. Montreal's record now stands at 27-21, placing them first in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division.
Montreal got a knockout punch from Gus Vicario. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Stuart did a nice job," said Harfangs manager Brendan Henry.
