The Boston Greens defeated the Havana Metropolitanos, 4-2, in Eastern Conference action at Arrington Park. Boston pitcher Williams Martinez had a standout performance. Ricardo Alas was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Vinny Ramos. Their 18-29 record puts the Greens last in the Eastern Conference Max Badaloni Division.
Boston got a knockout punch from Victor Salazar. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Boston manager Matt Glazer praised his team's "businesslike approach."
