The Portland (E) Lobster stormed past the Santiago Avispas, 12-5, at Ballpark of Portland. Portland (E) third basemanRiichi Otomo , who is tied for 8th in the EC in doubles with 13, led the hit parade. He was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Antonio Avellaneda got the win, improving to 4-5. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The Avispas had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Lobster going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old right fielder Brian Sides came to the plate.
