Serrano Slaps 5 Hits
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Danny Serrano is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Newport News Herons at Ballpark of The Blues. The monster effort from the 23-year-old catcher helped the Anchorage Glacier Pilots get the win, 9-4.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Herons manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Danny Serrano singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Fernando Rodriguez in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This season, Serrano is swinging the bat at a .260 rate with 26 hits in 100 at-bats. To date he has hit 5 home runs, scored 14 runs and driven in 14.
