Rangers Turn Back Phantoms, 4-3
|
Buffalo picked up a win at Foster Field, bumping off the Chicago Phantoms, 4-3. Pitcher Mike Blain was a major reason the Rangers emerged victorious. Bobby Sanchez earned the save, his 1st, for the Rangers. The Rangers go to 71-68, putting them second in the Eastern Conference Solano Antas Division.
Buffalo relied on the bat of Bejo Ananas to get the win. The first baseman produced a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 4-0. For the game, Ananas had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
Buffalo manager Alex Beckman was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
