Cyclones Drop Avispas, 6-5
|
The Miami Cyclones and Santiago Avispas obliged fans looking for a good time.
Santiago got a terrific game from first baseman Valerius Lowe. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Miami, 6-5. Lowe hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Juan Casanas earned the save for Miami, his 3rd of the year.
Karl Cooper hit a 3-run home run off Allan Tinter in the bottom of the first, which put the Cyclones ahead, 3-0. In addition to the homer, Cooper had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
Cooper told the Miami Citizen: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
The second-place Cyclones have a record of 70-68.
