With 3-2 Win, Metropolitanos Improve to 78-58
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Havana Metropolitanos got the win.
The Havana Metropolitanos, despite a fine performance by Maine pitcher Aaron Kopta, grabbed a 3-2 win at Estadio Latinoamericano. Kopta allowed 1 run over 5 innings. Josh Trejo earned his 39th save in 39 tries.
Hyuk Park was 1-2 with 2 walks for Havana. The 30-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Gerald Blackman. It was his 35th walk of the season.
"Tough loss," said Maine manager Matthew McExpos. "But that's how the cookie crumbles."
Havana improves to 78-58 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.
