Juggernauts Beat Visiting Metropolitanos, 8-5
|
The Toronto Juggernauts topped the Havana Metropolitanos, 8-5, with center fielder Tony Fonseca playing a big role. Fonseca was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit 2 times, while scoring 2 runs for the Juggernauts in the win. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Julio Soto. The Juggernauts now own a record of 58-78.
In the bottom of the sixth, Toronto left fielder Josh Bystrom had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Bystrom stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 5-3, Toronto. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Bystrom. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
