Lobster Suffer 4-3 Setback
The Philadelphia Spectres had to overcome a fine effort from Portland (E) pitcher Rafael Escobar to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Ballpark of Portland. Escobar went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belongs to Karel Berends in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Patrick Ehlers took the loss for Portland (E). Scott Franczak was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 29 save opportunities.

In the top of the ninth inning, pinch hitter Sando Torroais came through big-time for the Spectres. With Philadelphia trailing 3-2, he belted a solo home run.

After the game, Philadelphia manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.

The win puts the Spectres at 64-71, while the Lobster drop to 54-81.
