Browns Edge Cyclones, 4-3
|
It took 10 innings, but the Brooklyn Browns were able to beat the Miami Cyclones, 4-3, at Brown Town. Tommy Bomba provided some offensive muscle for Brooklyn. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to Jorge Baeza in relief. His record improves to 6-6. Ricardo Riveron took the loss. The Browns saw their win-loss record go to 67-69. At the same time, the Cyclones fell to 71-64.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Brooklyn catcher Hunter Begley, facing Ivan Fernandez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Browns the 4-3 win.
After the game, Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
