Drooping Cyclones Lose 9th Straight
|
The Miami Cyclones extended their losing streak with a defeat by the Buffalo Rangers.
The Buffalo Rangers stopped the Miami Cyclones, 10-6, at Kroger Stadium. The Rangers got a big game from Matty Hrinko, who went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Ignacio Noriega claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 8-5.
Buffalo used the timely hitting of Bejo Ananas to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rangers on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's fun coming to the ballpark," said Ananas, "when you're on this kind of roll."
The Rangers have now reeled off 8 straight wins.
