On Road, Toronto Drops Santiago, 3-2
|
The Toronto Juggernauts earned a close win over the Santiago Avispas, thanks in part to Morgan California. The Toronto right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. California, now 7-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The last-place Avispas have lost 5 consecutive games.
Tony Fonseca, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2070 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Fonseca contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Toronto up, 3-1.
Afterward, Santiago manager Jacob Pauly said: "We've hit a rough patch."
