Seattle Loses, 7-4, in 10
|
Seattle third baseman Matthew Allen had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Allen belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice, even as Brooklyn beat the Arrows, 7-4. Scott Brock, now 2-2, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Seattle now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
Brooklyn used a timely hit from Jim Borchers to get the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Browns ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Big win," said Borchers.
