The Miami Cyclones topped the Brooklyn Browns, 7-2, in Eastern Conference action at Brown Town. The standout performance belonged to Miami pitcher and Camagüey, Cuba, native Juan Casanas. In 6 innings, Casanas surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The win lifts Miami to a record of 3-1.

Miami used a well-timed hit by Karl Cooper to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It's not by accident that Juan finds ways to get outs," said Miami skipper Chris Stephan.
