Kaczmarek Stars as Juggernauts Top Metropolitanos, 12-4
|
The Toronto Juggernauts soundly defeated the Havana Metropolitanos, 12-4, at Estadio Latinoamericano, with third baseman Jon Kaczmarek a major reason why. He was 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Toronto. Reliever Jonah Cooper Jr. picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Vern Archdeacon, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2073 draft, took the loss. The Metropolitanos, now 8-19, continue their poor start.
Tillmam Velado, the first overall pick in the 2071 draft, helped out the Toronto cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk.
Toronto manager Marc Arnold was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
