Bartsch Wins Alpha Conference Pitching Crown Tuesday, September 11th , 2085 The Alpha Conference has heralded Barend Bartsch of the Plano Elephants as the #1 man on the mound for the 2085 campaign. This year's Outstanding Pitcher Award winner stood out by running up an impressive 18-3 record, holding opposing hitters to a .201 batting average and posting a 1.57 ERA. The 22-year-old hurler tossed 160.2 innings, gave up 116 hits, fanned 121 and issued 25 walks. He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 30. Nicolas de Boer of the Plano Elephants finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Bobby Moulton of the Aguascalientes Abejas finished third.
