Sanchez Hitless, Stopped by Mighty Gulls Sunday, July 30th , 2084 It was a doubly miserable day for Hector Sanchez of the Louisville Stompers, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 7-1, to the East Lansing Mighty Gulls at Ballpark of Louisville. The 21-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 1 at-bat by the Mighty Gulls. "Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," East Lansing manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." For the season, Sanchez is batting .330 with 115 hits and 11 home runs. He has scored 46 times and batted in 30. |
