Navarro Gets 27 Greens in a Row Friday, July 28th , 2084 With the final, flawless out recorded, the Lake Dalecarlia Saxons piled onto Marc Navarro at the center of the Saxons Ballpark diamond. Navarro joined baseball's most hallowed club, completing a perfect game against the Geneva Greens. The 21-year-old right-hander kept the Geneva offense guessing all day long and with some help from the defenders behind him, etched his name into the record books with the 7-0 shutout. "His breaking pitches had more movement than I've ever seen from Marc," Lake Dalecarlia manager said in the postgame interview. "He made everyone's job easy today. He just saw a target and he hit it. Simple as that." For the game, Navarro retired all 27 batters he faced and fanned 10 of them. He walked none and nobody got on base. Up to now Navarro has compiled an ERA of 3.30 with a 5-5 mark over 10 starts. He has 63 strikeouts in 79 innings and has held opponents to a .249 batting average. View Boxscore |
