Injury Sidelines Eric Rougier For Year Thursday, June 27th , 2086 Toledo reliever Eric Rougier could miss the remainder of the season because of an arthritic elbow. He exited yesterday's Orlando game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Rougier would be out 4-5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." He has made 12 relief appearances this year with 2 saves. Rougier has achieved a 0-0 record while holding opposing hitters to a .302 batting average and posting a 0.71 ERA. He has tossed 12.2 innings, given up 16 base hits, fanned 7 and issued 5 walks. |
