Stingers Rich Machecha to Miss Year Monday, July 3rd , 2084 It took the Salt Lake team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Rich Machecha won't simply play through a torn ulnar collateral ligament after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Sky Warriors-Stingers game. At first, it looked like Machecha might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 12-13 months. Machecha has fashioned a 2-2 mark for the season, 2.00 ERA and thrown 27 innings in 0 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .228 against him. |
