Mastic Beach Snaps Hiraoka Streak at 20 Saturday, April 13th , 2086 It just wasn't Kazuo Hiraoka's day. The Plano Elephants grabbed the 17-4 win over the Mastic Beach Polecats, but the Polecats mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 20-game hitting streak of Elephants third baseman Kazuo Hiraoka. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Hiraoka," Mastic Beach manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Elephants have other hitters and they did their job today." In the current season, Hiraoka has put up a .375 batting average with 12 hits, 1 home run, 9 runs batted in and scored 10 runs. |
