AC's Best Starter is Garza Wednesday, August 1st , 2085 There's something about a young rookie winning the Alpha Conference Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Mike Garza, a 21-year-old starter for the Orlando Sword Swallowers. In July, he topped off the month with a 5-0 mark and 1.42 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 44.1 innings, fanned 26 and held opposing teams to a .164 average. Thus far this season, Garza has posted a 12-7 record, started 22 games, struck out 93 batters in 138.2 innings and compiled a 3.50 ERA. |
