Yoanis Varona Hurt, Out for Year Tuesday, July 13th , 2083 Yoanis Varona is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the Plano organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 9 months with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. The 22-year-old starting pitcher suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Orlando Sword Swallowers. So far this season, Varona has a record of 2-0 with 10 strikeouts and 4 walks in 21.1 innings and a 2.95 ERA. |
