Herons Pineda Suffers Injury Monday, August 16th , 2083 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Salvador Pineda of the Herons knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Cincinnati Birds while throwing a pitch. Because of a torn rotator cuff, the Newport News starting pitcher is expected to miss 13 months. Pineda was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." In the current season in 22 starts, Salvador Pineda has a record of 5-7 with 103 strikeouts in 128.1 innings and a 4.28 ERA. |
