Salyer Wins BC Player of the Week Trophy Monday, August 14th , 2084 Alejandro Salyer must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .476 pace, then the Sault Ste. Marie first baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the Beta Conference Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Salyer quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Salyer. He hit .476 average (10-for-21) with 4 home runs and 14 RBIs. Looking at his present stats, Salyer has compiled a .271 batting average in 45 games with a .410 on-base percentage, while hitting 8 home runs and driving in 25 runs. |
