Injury Sidelines Leo Grijalva For Year

Cincinnati Birds reliever Leo Grijalva left yesterday's game against the Worcester Commodores after suffering a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament throwing a pitch. Grijalva was taken to the clubhouse for examination by team doctors. A team spokesman told BNN today Grijalva is expected to miss 9 months.
Grijalva's record this season is 2-and-1 with no saves and a 8.74 ERA. He has given up 25 hits in 22.2 innings with 25 strikeouts.
