5-Hit Barrage by Goodson Friday, July 21st , 2084 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Ryan Goodson, it came around today. The 23-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Shockwave Ballpark to pace the 5-4 Lamoine Shockwave victory over the Saint Paul Saints. Saint Paul skipper told reporters in the press room that "Goodson deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Goodson hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Ryan Goodson hit a solo-shot off Bill Canales in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, flied out in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th. Thus far this season in 36 games, Goodson is batting .280 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 26 hits in 93 at-bats. View Boxscore |
