5-Hit Blitz by Aguirre
Saturday, July 8th , 2084
Ivan Aguirre was at the head of a Pawtucket hit parade at Ballpark of Mascot. The second baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Patriots to a nice 16-2 victory over the Nevada Seafarers.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Aguirre told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Seafarers skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Ivan Aguirre singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ray Hibler in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jason Vega in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
Aguirre is batting .349 this year with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 51 hits in 146 at-bats.
