Season May Be Over for Birds Stephenson Sunday, May 5th , 2086 The doctors have spoken and Kai Stephenson of the Cincinnati Birds didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Stephenson sustained his season-ending injury during the Sault Ste. Marie Dukes game yesterday at Birds Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Cincinnati medical staff reported Stephenson had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11-12 months. In the current season in 6 starts, Kai Stephenson has a record of 0-1 with 15 strikeouts in 17.1 innings and a 2.60 ERA. |
