Castanon Sends Anchorage Bats to Deep Freeze Wednesday, May 31st , 2084 Alvaro Castanon of the Tulsa Metalheads was on top of his game. The 22-year-old tantalized the Anchorage Longbows with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 2-0. "He had the changeup working," Anchorage manager said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Tulsa hurler had 9 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 4 hits in his complete-game effort. Castanon told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
