Gordo Socks It to Dukes, Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, April 20th , 2086 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Axemen's Alexis Gordo at Axemen Ballpark. Gordo put up a 5-for-5 line against the Sault Ste. Marie Dukes, swinging the bat with authority all day despite his club's eventual 9-4 loss. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Gordo said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's disappointing to lose." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. Alexis Gordo singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. This season, Gordo is batting .294 with 15 hits and no home runs. He has scored 9 times and has 6 runs batted in. View Boxscore |
