Alderete Whacks 3 Out of the Park for Saint Paul Sunday, August 5th , 2085 Saint Paul first baseman Moises Alderete blasted three homers at Ballpark of Raleigh in the 15-4 Saints victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Dukes. For the game, Moises Alderete scored 3 times and knocked in 5 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Alderete when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 4-for-5, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Alderete told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Moises Alderete struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Bill Alcantar in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Alfonso Perez in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Simon Parker in the 8th. Thus far this year, Alderete is hitting .236 with 7 home runs, 26 RBIs and 21 runs scored. |
