Vazquez Wins BC Top Pitcher Award Wednesday, August 1st , 2085 When Clyde Hill reliever Pablo Vazquez strolled in from the bullpen in July, it did not bode well for the opposing team. He usually put a quick end to any budding rally. For his excellent mound work he was named the Beta Conference Pitcher of the Month. The Cyclones reliever had no saves for the month with a 5-0 record and 0.99 ERA. He made no relief appearances, hurled 36.1 innings, yielded 27 hits, fanned 25 and walked 10. So far this season, Vazquez has compiled a 11-6 won-lost mark with no saves and a 2.59 ERA. In 153 innings he has fanned 80 and opponents are hitting him at a .258 clip. |
